The breadth and depth of theological scholarship in the School of Theology and Religious Studies is unparalleled. Graduate students can explore nine diverse areas of theological study with professors who have written many of the theological textbooks used by students on our campus and at universities around the world.

These academic areas embody the heart of the University’s mission to serve both Church and nation. Our madate comes straight from the Vatican to teach in the name of the Church and to offer academic degrees by the authority of the Pope.

Graduate students select one of these areas to pursue their degree. Undergraduate theology and religious studies students are given a broader background in theology that touches on many of these academic areas.
