Msgr. Clay, pastoral studies area director, led an all-day conference with Christian initiation ministers in the Diocese of Lafayette, LA on April 23.  He gave presentations on understanding the distinctions between initiation catechesis and religious education, the importance of evangelization in the initial formation of inquirers, and the cultural adaptations required to make Christian initiation effective in the rural and small-town world.
