Theology and Religious Studies majors who wish to earn a master's degree can apply in their junior year for this accelerated dual degree program to earn both the B.A. and M.A. in five years. Usually for a student interested in pursuing teaching, ministry, or graduate studies, this program enables a student to complete both degrees in less time and for less tuition.

Accepted B.A./M.A. students take four theology and religious studies courses during their undergraduate years at the 600-level. These graduate courses are applied to both B.A. and M.A. degrees, resulting in a quicker completion time.

The application for the B.A./M.A. is easier than the usual M.A. application, requiring no fee, no letters of recommendation, and no GRE score (though these latter items are due during senior year).

Not only is the B.A./M.A. financially advantageous, since I'll receive a two-year master's education in one year, it will also make me stand out to potential employers when I begin looking for a job. Those of us who apply for the B.A./M.A. at Catholic University are committed, passionate, and driven students who want to make the most of our Catholic University theology education."
