William McNamara
Bill joined the Board of Visitors in 2022 with his wife Mary, having been introduced to the School of Theology and Religious Studies through their son Patrick, now a junior Theology major, and Father Mark Morozowich.

Bill’s professional background is in strategy, finance, and marketing, which he practiced in the investment management industry for many years.  In 2016, he moved into public service for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  In 2020, he was appointed Comptroller of the Commonwealth by then-Governor Charlie Baker.  As head of the Office of the Comptroller, he fulfills a key non-partisan leadership role in state financial administration and reporting.

Bill feels fortunate to be able to serve and support TRS, believing that that the School’s mission and place in American Catholicism is vital.
