Matthew Turk
A proud graduate of the School of Theology and Religious Studies at The Catholic University, Matthew has been a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Crystal Lake, Illinois since 1983.  Matthew was hired by the Parish in 1983 as the first lay youth minister. During his time there he met Sheri and were married in 1985   They have been blessed with two sons, Joshua and Benjamin who is married to Heather.  Both Matthew and Sheri have remained active in the Parish, serving in various ministries: Eucharistic Minister, Funeral Ministry, Meals on Wheels, Nursing Home Ministry, Adoration Ministry and the Knights of Columbus.  They are both members of the Light of the World Evangelization Ministry, a Parish based weekend Evangelization program.  Matthew had also served as a Board member from 2013 – 2018 and continues as an Evangelizer presenting on the weekends.  

Matthew Turk is the Chief Operating Officer of INTREN LLC, a nation-wide electrical contracting company with over 2,500 employees.  Matthew has been with Intren for over 31 years, starting as the company’s first Safety Coordinator, working his way up to becoming the Executive VP of Operations and was recently named COO in 2021.  A key value of INTREN LLC is stewardship, and the company is actively involved in the communities in which they work.  INTREN has received numerous community awards for their service to those communities, and individually Matthew received El Valor’s Champion Award in 2021. Since 2017 Matthew has served as Trustee on the American Line Builders Chapter of NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association) & the MSECA (Middle States Electric Contractors Association) since 2021, and also serves on the Quad County Urban League Board of Directors since 2021. From 2010 to 2021, Matthew also served as a Director (Contractor Rep) on the Illinois Julie Board. 

Matthew earned his B.A. from the University of Dayton, his M.A. from the Catholic University of America School of Theology and Religious Studies in 1983, and his C.B.A. from University of Illinois School of Business in 1995.

Matthew and Sheri are excited to work with and support the School of Theology and Religious Studies to continue its growth and impact.
