Gain Real World Experience

The School of Theology and Religious Studies facilitates student internships with a variety of organizations in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area in order to augment our students’ educational experience with experience outside the classroom.

A 6-8 hour/week internship is the culmination of our Certificate in Pastoral Ministry students’ formation. Students intern at one of our approved sites with extensive support and supervision. Our certificate students are also able to integrate their practical experience with their theological studies through a weekly theological reflection with other certificate students.

The School of Theology and Religious Studies also assists interested non-certificate students in finding internships. Our students have interned for organizations such as the Unites States Conference of Catholic Bishops (located across the street from Catholic University), Gonzaga College High School, and the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry.
