    Bishop Barron in an alumnus of CUA and a member of CUA's Board of Trustees. The two programs share Bishop Barron's vision for evangelization. What sets CUA's program apart is the WOF affiliation with renowned faculty in the School of Theology and Religious Studies, and the setting of this graduate program in the only national university in the United States founded by the bishops with the approval of the Holy See.

    Yes, you may enroll in one course each semester as the program is self paced.

    Full time continuously enrolled students may complete the degree with 33 hours in three semesters and summer.

Class Schedules and Format

  • What is typical day/time options for online synchronous courses?

    Classes are generally offered once a week, mostly in the early evenings. One course each semester is offered during the daytime.
  • Can international students apply for this program?

    If an international student is able to commit to the synchronous class times set in US time zones, applications are welcome. No accommodations outside of synchronous class participation is possible at this time.

Summer Residency

  • How long is the Summer Residency?

    The optional Summer Residency is offered for three days, usually in June.
  • What does the Summer Residency consist of?

    Students are immersed in study and fellowship in person in the beautiful Catholic University campus in the heart of the nation's capital, Washington, D.C.
  • What courses are offered in the summer?

    Two elective courses (3 credits each) will be offered. (TRS 570 & 571 Advanced Topics in Evangelization I & II). These courses explore the most pressing issues facing evangelists today, including evangelization and new media, politics and the Gospel, evangelization in the times of persecution, Church history for evangelists, and the demands of cross-cultural mission. Combining theological reflection with practical strategies, the course prepares students to bring the timeless message of Christ into the complex realities of the contemporary world.
  • Will there be housing on campus and what will that cost?

    On campus housing in the dormitory is available. Cost ranges from $65-$75/per night. Campus dining hall cost is $175 per student for 15 meals. (Prices subject to annual cost increases.)
  • Are there other accommodations in the area?

    There are some religious houses and hotels in the vicinity that students may seek out on their own.
