Quasten Medal Awarded to Very Rev Professor John Erickson

On 30 January 2019, Dean Mark Morozowich conferred the Quasten Medal, the highest award of the School of Theology and Religious Studies, on Very Rev John Erickson, emeritus Peter M. Gramowich Professor of Church History at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in New York. Following words of welcome by university Provost Andrew Abela, Dean Morozowich gave anaddressin which he highlighted Fr Erickson's many years of distinguished scholarship in the fields of canon law and church history, and his long and dedicated service to ecumenism, especially in the North American Orthodox-Catholic Theological Consultation. Prof Erickson expressed his appreciation for the award and delivered a very interesting lectureon "Baptism in Eastern Christian Tradition: Ecclesial Context, Faith Content."
