New document from the ITC
On 16 January 2014, the latest document from the International Theological Commission, of which Msgr Paul McPartlan is a member, was published. It is entitled, God the Trinity and the unity of humanity: Christian monotheism and its opposition to violence. Tackling a major issue of current debate, the document, which was finalized at the ITC plenary meeting in Rome in December 2013, responds to the thesis that there is an intrinsic link between monotheism and violence, and firmly argues that 'inter-religious wars and also wars in the name of religion are simply senseless'.
