The Synods on the Family and the New Evangelization

On Monday, March 16th at 5:00p.m. in Hannan Auditorium, the School of Theology and Religious Studies will host a presentation entitled "The Synods on the Family and the New Evangelization." The presentation will aim to get beyond some of the sensationalized reporting on the event to what actually happened at the last fall's Extraordinary Synod (October 5-19, 2014) and the actual agenda for the coming Ordinary Synod to be held October 4-25, 2015. The Synods will be treated in the context of the pontificate of Pope Francis and the Church's engagement in the New Evangelization. The discussion will feature Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz, Archbishop of Louisville, current President of the U.S.C.C.B., and a synod participant. Dr. John Grabowski, Associate Professor and Director of Moral Theology/Ethics and a member of the Pontifical Council for the Family will also present. The event will take place in Hannan Auditorium and is free and open to the public.
