Msgr Clay Delivers Address at International RCIA Conference
Msgr. Clay gave one of the keynote addresses at an international meeting on the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults held in Chicago, June 18-19. His address, "The Period of Evangelization and Precatechumenate: Critical Beginnings," examined how the lack of adequate evangelization at the beginning of the initiation process can contribute to the numbers of initiates who fall away from an active practice of worship and missionary discipleship and what might be done to remediate this in future efforts to train clergy and catechetical leaders in Christian initiation ministry.
