On 10 April 2017, at the San Alfonso Retreat House, Long Branch, NJ, Msgr Paul McPartlan gave a presentation to the Malines Conversations Group and led a discussion regarding the meaning of the phrase "subsistit in" that occurs in n.8 of Vatican II's dogmatic constitution on the Church, Lumen Gentium: the Church of Christ "subsists in the Catholic Church". Recalling the pioneering Malines Conversations between Anglicans and Roman Catholics in the 1920s, the newly constituted, international Malines Conversations Group of Anglican and Roman Catholic bishops and scholars first met in 2013. This was their sixth meeting.
