April 24, Msgr. Stephen J. Rossetti, research associate Professor for STRS, was in Florence Italy giving a workshop on human formation and child abuse prevention to Catholic priests and religious in the central Italian region. The talk was sponsored by the Theology Faculty of Central Italy and supported by the Archdiocese of Florence. The coordinator of the workshop was a psychiatrist, Dr. Stefano Lassi, shown in the attached photo, whose clinical practice includes assisting the local Churches in promoting a healthy clergy. Approximately 60 priests and religious attended. Msgr Rossetti’s talk addressed a healthy integration of one’s sexuality and emotions in living a chaste, celibate life as a priest. Msgr Rossetti stressed the need for priests to live their lives with integrity based, in part, on a strong human formation. The Ordinary of Montepulciano, Bishop Manetti, gave a short opening address followed by the workshop.
