Msgr Stephen J. Rossetti, who teachings in STRS Pastoral Studies, authored a new book: The Priestly Blessing:  Rediscovering the Gift published by Ave Maria Press. (https://www.avemariapress.com/product/1-59471-847-4/The-Priestly-Blessing/)
It was released in Oct 2018. In this work, he forges a renewed theology of blessings, encouraging brother priests and deacons to embrace the habit of blessing people, objects, and events. In addition, he notes the important inclusion of laity giving blessings when permitted in the revised Book of Blessing. He said that the Church has a rich tradition of Church blessing but there is a deficit in training for this important practice and a deficit of instructional resources. This book reviews the understanding of blessings in  Scripture, the Tradition, the Magisterium and current practice. Msgr Rossetti suggests that blessings can be one way to bring the life of the Church into the everyday lives of people. Such practices will be especially important in our secular era where fewer go to Church. The book has blurbs from Archbishop Wilton Gregory, Archbishop Timothy Broglio, Msgr Peter Vaghi and more.
