Msgr. Irwin Speaks in Rome
On Wednesday April 6 the Pontifical Liturgical Institute at Sant Anselmo (Rome) hosted a book launch for Msgr. Irwin's latest book, The Sacraments: Historical Foundations and Liturgical Theology . Among the one hundred and twenty who attended included Archbishop Arthur Roche, Secretary for the Congregation for Divine Worship, Cardinal Pater Turkson, President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace (pictured with Msgr. Irwin), Cardinal Edwin O'Brien, Grand Master of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre and Archbishop Piero Marini, former Papal Master of Ceremonies. Msgr. Irwin's remarks at the launch are available here . On Tuesday April 19 Msgr. Irwin presented a paper at the International Anglican-Roman Catholic dialogue (Malines) group on the theology of Roman Catholic Ordination Rites. His presentation was followed by that of Dr. Simon Jones of Oxford University, who presented on the Anglican Rites. Msgr. Irwin is in Rome teaching at his alma mater, Sant Anselmo, through the middle of June.
